Abstract

In order to produce the fundamental data for the improvement of noising working environments and effective hearing conservation program on workers exposed to industrial noise, the study observed and evaluated the noise level on 85 working
processes
(456
workers) of 10 working sites in Kyung Nam Province from November 1991 to April 1992.
@ES The summarized results are as follows:
@EN 1. Hull assembly shop made 150 workers of 10 work processes and exceeded 25.7% on the noise threshold limit value.
2. LNGshop showed exceeding in 4 work processes and the heighest level was Grinding (100dB(A)).
3. Unit assembly shop showed exceeding the noise threshold limit value on all work process.
4. Preoutfitting paint shop was the heighest level on Blasting (107.5dB(A)).
5. The threshol limit value of Plantshop exceeded in 7 work processes .
6. Dock assembly shop showed exceeding limit value in Grinding and Curving work.
7. Special shop building shop cxeeded in 6 of 5 work processes.
8. Sea plant shop showed the heighest noise level on Metalizing(111.0dB(A)).
9. Engine plant shop composed with foundry shop, Propeller shop, forging shop, Crankshaft shop and rotating machine shop. The heighest noise level was Desand(112.6dB(A)) in foundry, Grindings (99.5dB(A)) in Propeller, Radar(106.0dB(A)) in
forging,
Feillet grinding(96.7dB(A)) in Crankshaft, and Grinding(107.0dB(A)) in rotating machine.
10. Cleaning acid shop did not show exceeding processes.
11. In over-all process, the heighest average noise level was Gaussing and Grinding.
